Wellgreen Technology Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer and supplier of grape seed extract for the food, beverage and nutritional industries. The material is produced at our own facility from grape seed recovered from the juice and wine industries, and supplied in bulk to formulators and brand owners.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Grape seed extract is a concentrated polyphenol ingredient produced from the seeds of Vitis vinifera L. It is a primary commercial source of oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC) - condensed flavonoid polymers built from catechin and epicatechin units - which is the fraction the ingredient is standardised on.
Raw material control starts at the vineyard: seed is recovered and processed promptly after pressing, because the proanthocyanidin fraction is sensitive to oxidation. Extraction at Wellgreen uses membrane separation followed by low-temperature vacuum drying, which concentrates the polyphenol fraction without the thermal load of conventional drying.

READING THE ASSAY FIGURE
Two points decide whether two quotations can be compared. First, the method: a proanthocyanidin figure determined by UV spectrophotometry measures total polyphenols against a reference standard and will not match an HPLC figure on the same material; the specification above therefore states the method for each row. Second, the basis: whether the percentage is calculated on the extract as supplied or on a dried basis. Both should be confirmed in writing before an order is placed.
APPLICATION
- Dietary supplements. Capsules, tablets, softgels and stick packs.
- Functional food and beverages. The extract is water-soluble and dissolves to a clear solution at typical use levels, so it is compatible with dry blends and with liquid systems.
- Personal care. Used as a polyphenol ingredient in creams and serums.
- Natural preservative. Used in the food industry, particularly in Europe and the United States, as a polyphenol-rich additive in oil- and meat-based products.
Two sensory and handling points are worth establishing before the specification is fixed. Proanthocyanidins are astringent, so the taste contribution becomes noticeable at higher doses; and the polyphenol fraction is sensitive to oxidation, so the storage conditions and packaging format both affect how the material holds up over shelf life.
