FUNCTION AND APPLICATION
1. Honeysuckle extract has a cardiovascular protective effect. As a free radical scavenger, an antioxidant has been proved by a large number of tests. It has a protective effect on the cardiovascular system. It is known that oxygen free radicals are one of the important harmful factors causing endothelial injury, and vascular endothelial cell injury is the basis of causing pathological states such as platelet aggregation, coagulation, apoptosis, and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells, and vascular tension regulation disorders. Honeysuckle extract by scavenging free radicals and anti-lipid peroxidation can protect vascular endothelial cells, and then in the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis, thromboembolism and hypertension and other aspects play a role.
2. Its anti-mutagenesis and anti-cancer effects. The results showed that chlorogenic acid had a preventive and inhibitory effect on the occurrence of gastric cancer and colon cancer. The mechanism of anti-mutagenesis and anti-cancer action may be related to the following factors: Pro-oxidation: It has been found that it is a pro-oxidant in an alkaline environment, which can cause large DNA fragments in tumor cells and cause nuclear agglutination.
This effect may be related to hydrogen peroxide oxidation.
